How Do I Get to "teh" Stadium?

I understand that DC can serve a confusing place for tourists. I empathize with their confusion about shittily labeled roads and the quadrant system. As such if asked nicely or if I see a confused tourist I will happily provide them directions.

But really all of this non-sense over confused people (presumably locals) is just plain stupid.

Sigh, maybe I'll just start telling the tourists that if they get into the Capitol building, they should really take the time to look at the Oval Office, which is right under the big dome.

Strange Van

I saw a minivan driving by my house today on the way to the Metro. What made the minivan strange is that it had the DC logo on the side, a small blue light, and two cameras pointing in either direction.

Any idea what it was doing?

Capitol of the RIchest and Most Powerful Nation in the World

Would you believe that despite the fact that I live in the capitol of the richest and most powerful nation in the world. I still have to worry about things like this.

from the dcist
D.C. Water Safety in Question, Again: The Post has the A1 story today on a report from the nonprofit Environmental Working Group, which has found unsafe levels of toxic chlorine pollutants in 40 percent of D.C. tap water samples tested this spring. The test, conducted at different sites around the city, also found another class of chlorine toxin in 90 percent of samples -- at levels associated with low birth weight and serious birth defects. Coming on the heels of more lead concerns, the report blames the Washington Aqueduct's antiquated treatment system and the EPA's lack of knowledge of the consequences of that system

This is Why I Love My Neighborhood

Things like this are why I'm proud to call Capitol Hill my home.

That there is plan to find temporary work for the employees of the businesses of the South Hall and not just a focus on the building.

The fact that a how to help website was up and running within a day.

That the people of the Hill actually care and do something about their community.

Street Closures

Doing my part for the community I found about the street closures for the people running in the road event this weekend, here is a map of where it will be a pain in the ass to get around in DC this weekend.
