Official Declaration

Non-nerd readers may skip this post:

I here by officially declare if your browser doesn't render a page the same way it is rendered in Firefox then your browser is broken until it works like Firefox. The reason for this is two fold.
  1. Mozilla is available on pretty much every platform
  2. Mozilla has the best developer tools

This is a dogma, so no arguments will be accepted.

Bad Choices

A Pimp Named Slickback

Bob Barker was the Mac, he was the US's answer to James Bond, his only competition was Richard Dawson, who basically was the uncle that if at Thanksgiving you couldn't find your daughter and you couldn't spot him you'd break into panic.
Barker had his own harem, Barker's Beauties. Bob Barker was a role model, handsome, elegant, graceful and overall a fly mother, shut your mouth. He recently retried, so who do think they'd bring in to replace him? Who? George Clooney? Resurrect one of the Rat Packers?
No they took it opposite way, they hired the stumpy, inept, awkward guy who couldn't get laid in a whorehouse with a fist full of dollars. They hired the opposite of what Bob represented, what made part of the electricity of the show is that the ladies on the show were all about Bob, they wore future Mrs. Barker t-shirts and he brought sexual energy to a show that was on during the middle of the day.

Oh well, Congratulations, Drew Carey on your new job.
Next up from this casting crew the remake of "Star Wars" with Andy Dick as Luke Skywalker and Richard Simmons as Han Solo.

Mistakes are Reminders!!!!

Dealing With Sins of the Forefathers
Md. Torn Over Statues of Justice in Dred Scott Case

So we've had some shitty leaders in past (and the current) but whitewashing (no pun intended) history is a bad mistake. We need to be reminded of our mistakes so as not to repeat them. This follows along my general principle of never hide the truth, no matter how much it pains us, no matter how much it challenges our way of thinking, no matter how much we wish it wasn't the reality.
This is way I get vexed to any form of hiding the truth or restrictions on speech. A great example of this is protecting racist speech, is it a disgusting stupid mark on humanity, but it shouldn't be suppressed for the very fact that the best response is by exposing everyone to how fucking ignorant is it.

Capitol of the RIchest and Most Powerful Nation in the World

Would you believe that despite the fact that I live in the capitol of the richest and most powerful nation in the world. I still have to worry about things like this.

from the dcist
D.C. Water Safety in Question, Again: The Post has the A1 story today on a report from the nonprofit Environmental Working Group, which has found unsafe levels of toxic chlorine pollutants in 40 percent of D.C. tap water samples tested this spring. The test, conducted at different sites around the city, also found another class of chlorine toxin in 90 percent of samples -- at levels associated with low birth weight and serious birth defects. Coming on the heels of more lead concerns, the report blames the Washington Aqueduct's antiquated treatment system and the EPA's lack of knowledge of the consequences of that system
