If you really feel the need to have a gun that close at ALL times you are either paranoid, living foul or should have a security team.

I'd argue that the 2nd Amendment is for the right of the people to "bear arms" not only for a national defense against invasion but rather as stated "being necessary to the security of a free State" the threat can also be from a government here at home that gets in the way of a free state.
