Be a Mensch

I often remember hearing from my dad as a child (and still today) to act like a mensch
Today inline with my latest fascination with Yiddish, I checked out what the web had to say about being a mensch. I came across an entry on Guy Kawasaki's blog titled How to Be a Mensch and I really like how he articulates it and it is very much inline with my world view. Here are the five bullet points but please read the whole post to get the details.

1. Help people who cannot help you.


2. Help without the expectation of return.


3. Help many people.


4. Do the right thing the right way.


5. Pay back society.

I also think this can be trimmed down to on line, though the vision isn't quite as clear.
